with unique products especially the products that are meticulously designed and engineered. It gives a different experience to the people who visit the room and question about my collection and I feel equally great when I explain them and why I bought something. I use this lamp for multiple things, I record my piano performances and need a good lighting on top to give that visual appeal. I also sometimes read while I use my standing desk and my dyson lightcycle gives the perfect light I need for reading. Another use is - I sometimes use just the lamp light(not the down lights in the room) when I need enough/minimum light on top of my laptop over my standing desk. The ability to adjust the height and position with 360 rotation is great for getting the precisely where I need. I love the mobile connectivity also but I consider that as a bonus and not really something that I use often.
I have a lot of creative work to do in my day to day job. It can sometimes takes hours or days or weeks to create something that satisfies me and others. And therefore I have empathy towards what it takes to design a creative product such as this.
Appreciating creativity and marvel of engineering is a choice. I chose to appreciate this product. This is not a commodity and probably not for everyone or people looking just for lamp.
If you love it, you will rationalise spend on this.
